Preface to the Festschrift in Honor of Professor Kingo Itaya

It is with immense pleasure that we dedicate this issue of the Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry to Professor Kingo Itaya in honor and in celebration of his 65th birthday. As a dauntless pioneer, tenacious innovator and prolific contributor in several sub-fields of electrochemistry, applied physics and engineering, Professor Itaya has achieved global renown. The influences that he has imparted to his students, postdoctoral research associates, collaborators and peers are evident in the collection of articles archived in this issue.
