Raman and Optical Parametric oscillation in ultra-high-Q planar microcavities

Abstract

The ultra-high-Q and small mode volume of chip-based toroid microcavities, allows to significantly reduce the threshold for all common nonlinear optical phenomena. Here we report on stimulated Raman and optical parametric oscillation in these cavities.
