The law of the wake in the turbulent boundary layer

Abstract

The mean-velocity profile in the turbulent boundary layer is represented by a linear combination of two universal functions. One is the well-established law of the wall. The other, called the law of the wake, is interpreted in terms of the large-scale structure in the flow.
