The quest for earth abundant hydrogen evolution catalysts

Our group has been studying late metal coordination complexes to explore factors that might lead to efficient electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution using comparatively earth abundant metals. Some of the catalysts we have studies mediate hydrogen evolution at strikingly low overpotentials. This talk will describe our most recent efforts, including new mono- and dinuclear systems that display hydrogenase function.
