Diastereocontrol in Olefin Metathesis: the Development of Z‐Selective Ruthenium Catalysts
Contributors
Abstract
The recent development of several Z selective ruthenium (Ru) metathesis catalysts is described in this chapter. Their synthesis, decomposition mechanisms, and the effect of each ligand are all discussed along with selected examples of synthetic applications. In general, these catalysts are capable of quantitative Z selectivity in a variety of reactions including cross‐metathesis, ring‐closing metathesis, and ring‐opening metathesis polymerization.
