EXHIBITS A & B: Notes for an Exhibition of Science and Art

Abstract
Science and art, it is said, are domains of truth.
One seeks pure objectivity, free of value. The other is a currency of the subjective (even at its most objective). Both truths, but often different truths.
Except that humans are involved. And humans are not that different from one another. They are makers and thinkers and observers and ruminators. Science and art require peak versions of these types.
So, how to exhibit the work of scientists and the work of artists together, in the same space? While comparisons can be illuminating, they can also be misleading. There may be art in science, and science in art, but they are not the same.
Perhaps the answer is to present the work as evidence: exhibits A and B. Articles of proof for the works’ respective revelatory agendas. Leaving the connections to be defended, deliberated, and discovered by the audience.
