Photoimaging in mercuric iodide polycrystalline films

Abstract
We have demonstrated a photoimaging process in thin polycrystalline films of the low temperature phase of semiconducting mercuric iodide for the first time. This process is shown to be due to a thermally activated photon enhanced sublimation which occurs above 50°C.
