Building Interoperable NASA Archives

Abstract

Over the past decades NASA has developed an extensive set of archives for space astronomy data. These archives are organized along mission, wavelength regime and information domains. Interlinking of these archives is essential to enable the fullest use of NASA's data resources. These archives will form key elements of the VO and include many advanced archive systems. Understanding the issues that arise in linking these systems together will be important in understanding how to build the full Virtual Observatory.
