Seismicity and Structure of the Pacific Region of North America

The small seismic map of North America, accompanying the writer's paper presented to the Sixth Pacific Science Congress, is now out of date. Dr. Gutenberg, with some assistance from the writer, has carried out a thorough recension of all available instrumental data for the location of the larger earthquakes. The results have appeared in two publications under the title "Seismicity of the Earth"; a revision in book form is in press at this writing. From this are taken the new seismic maps (Figs. 1-4).
