More Freedom Now: An Explanation of Local Duality and Other Mysteries

Abstract

nambiguous predictions of asymptotic freedom for l>=Q2<=15 GeV^2 electroproduction are described and confirmed by the data. The logarithms of asymptotic freedom are observed; their scale determines the quark-gluon coupling to be small, but non-zero: g^2(2 GeV)/4n^2 0.15. Local duality and a refined version of the Drell-Yan relation emerge from the field theory. A prediction for R(= a_1/o_T) disagrees with current experiment.
