Deep-Focus Earthquakes in the Mediterranean Region

In Table I the authors give a list of known deep-focus earthquakes in the eastern Mediterranean. Fig. l shows that their epicenters generally lie in the zones of active volcanoes, as in the regions surrounding the Pacific Ocean; however, their coincidence with positive gravity anomalies is less evident.
