The Physical Constants of Sea Ice

Abstract

The continuous phase changes taking place in the interior of sea ice make it a remarkable substance. All of the physical properties are extremely temperature dependent and arc controlled by the quantity of brine in the interstices. The basic physical and thermal properties of sea ice are presented in tables and graphs; the apparently erratic behaviour is caused by precipitation of cryohydrates.
