Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectra. Hindered Rotation and Molecular Asymmetry

Abstract

The elegant and unequivocal demonstration of non-equivalent fluorine atoms in certain gem-difluoro compounds of type I with the aid of their nuclear magnetic resonance spectra has been interpreted as indicating restricted rotation about the central C-C bond of I.
